Hello everyone. In connection with the recent (in fact, long-standing) rumors about the 3rd part of Deus Ex, I was simultaneously overwhelmed with 2 emotions: “Hurray! One of my favorite series is back! I’m already a little tired of replaying MD for the 7th time, so a new part will come in handy!"and…"Stop… What if they mess up? If the game becomes a typical action game ala CoD or Battlefield? What if they shove a typical agenda into the plot?? What if…" etc. d. etc. n. And against the backdrop of this news, I thought about what exactly led to such a gap between games? Right. Mankind Divided failure . Why was the game criticized in the first place?? Again, rightly so, for the crumpled or even meaningless ending, the short plot and in general, the game was cut! Although it was enough to see an interview with the developers, where it was said (almost) in plain text that the game was completed and information about the division of the game, this is “nonsense” and not the “secret truth”. And yet, let’s return to justified reasons that are… not justified. Now let’s go into more detail.
Part I | What’s up with the plot??
Initially it seems that the plot is at least 10-15 hours long and this is at best! But it’s not true. Let’s look at the plot: 2 years after the "Panchaea Incident" (at that time, all the Augs had gone crazy), in a deserted Dubai, Task Force 29 from Prague, sent by Interpol, was going to intercept a certain arms dealer nicknamed Sheppard. (Whether Singh is alive or not has no effect. It seems like.) But suddenly augmented terrorists appear who attacked Sheppard’s people. The situation is aggravated by a sandstorm and a helicopter taking off. After disarming the helicopter, Jensen passes out and comes back to Prague. Upon arrival at the Ruzicka station, he meets with his partner in the Juggernaut team, Alejandra Vega. Upon entering the station, an explosion occurs, during which Adam’s augmentations become malfunctioning. After talking with Sharif, Adam can go either to the headquarters of OG29 or to the bookstore of his friend Vaclav Koller, who repairs augmentations. Regardless of the choice, Adam is found to have hidden augmentations. Next, Adam makes his way to the Ruzicka station, from where he steals a photo from the station, and meanwhile, Jim Miller, Jensen’s boss, is given evidence indicating the guilt of the CPA – the Coalition for the Rights of the Augmented, whose leader, Talos Rucker, despite the accusations, is a pacifist. Jensen meets with psychiatrist Delara Ozen, and on the previously installed snitch chip, there is a conversation between Joseph Manderly, Miller’s boss, and Jim himself, in which Joseph clearly makes it clear that “augmented terrorists” participated in all the terrorist attacks. After arriving at the Utulek complex (or the City of Golems), we’ll probably stop.
As you can understand, during the https://slotscapitalcasino.co.uk/games/ first 8 missions, only 2-3 important moments occurred, namely: a terrorist attack at the Ruzicka station, an ambush in Dubai and an arrival in the City of Golems, with the capture of Talos Rucker. But this is a misleading impression. In fact, the plot is big and… Multi-layered.
Part II | Everything is a little deeper than it seems
The shot above is not for beauty’s sake: This shot perfectly illustrates the depth of the plot of Mankind Divided . Do you see the aug in the yellow sweatshirt? I bet that during the passage, it did not cause so much attention in you, except in blue and dark colors, a bright yellow sweatshirt naturally stands out. So here it is. What if I told you that this very Aug caused the explosion and almost all the events of the game? Naturally, he fulfilled the role that was “given” to him, but this is not so important now. The important thing is that we can find out this information if we just pay attention. Simply by being attentive, we can understand that this man’s name is Ivan Burke, that he has a wife (okay, that doesn’t matter anymore) and that he collaborates with Viktor Marchenko, and the latter ordered Burke to blow up the station, along with himself. Just by being attentive in this immersive sim, you can understand the plot.
The same can be said about the second screenshot. Yes, it’s more difficult to notice an important detail here, because there is enough visual noise on the screen, but if you look closely, you can see a girl with red hair, who, like Burke, looks foreign, in dark and blue colors. This girl has a lot in common with Jensen, albeit indirectly. Her name is Madame Photographer and yes, her name is some other facts you can find out if you are careful. But she’s just a small piece of the big Jensen puzzle. Get ready for a long (or not so long) and VERY spoiler-filled story..
Part III | And this is for what I asked Sharif?
After the main character was found in the rubble of Panchaea, he was locked in the complex *No. 451. In the complex, Jensen was looked after by Dr. McFadden, who was Vadim Orlov, the scientist who developed the Titan augmentation, which was found among Adam’s hidden augmentations. Also, in the complex it was not difficult to identify him, as Sharif says, so most likely the clinic was controlled by the Illuminati. Based on the words of Vaclav, they were sewn in hastily and not so long ago. Having escaped from the complex, Adam began to be followed by a certain Madame Photographer (the girl shown above), Delara Ozen, already familiar to us, and Vadim Orlov himself, who settled next to Prague Dovoz, a front company for OG29, and opposite the house where Vadim lives, there is Madame Photographer’s refuge, where you can see that she was watching us not only at the station and near the PROTEZ clinic, but also in our apartment (I hope she I didn’t see Jensen taking a shower…)! Why did you have to do all this?? Obviously, for the murder of Janus, as Lucius DeBeers indirectly speaks about in the post-credits scene, which can be understood precisely after the investigation described above. And now, I’ll explain why the title of the 3rd part is here: All this can be found out thanks to the side quest “Mysterious Augmentations”, which goes through the entire game, and is activated if you simply ask Sharif.
Part IV | Multi-layered plot – classic?
As far as you know (and if you don’t know, then find out), in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided the gameplay is the same multi-layered: 1st layer – just a linear run through the location, 2nd layer – several paths through the location, 3rd layer – several options for completing the mission/game. In the storyline, one could also say: 1st layer – the usual plot, 2nd layer – Marchenko, the terrorist attack on "Ruzhika" (including Ivan Burke), Rucker’s evidence, etc. d. etc. n., 3rd layer – Madame Photographer, body in Versalife, Janus, Vadim Orlov.
After thoughtfully completing the game, we can conclude that the plot is not for 10-15 hours, but for a maximum of 40-50 hours. And please, replay the game with all this information and try not just to run through the game, but to go through the locations a little more carefully and I assure you that you will find not just a password for another door at the end.
